It was a great day for squishes!
The postie brought not one, but two lovely packages. The first was from Sue, with four gorgeous blocks:
And the second was from Gun, with two, including one stunning appliqué block:
And finally, I’ve bought the fabric for the back and joining strips:
I couldn’t resist the tiny stars on the cream background, and that marbled teal has tiny sparkles over-printed on it.
Scinteallate is really starting to scintillate!
All the blocks from Sue and Gun are just gorgeous!!!!!!
They are, aren’t they? The effect of all of them on the design wall is beginning to look as I’d hoped.
I love Sue’s blocks, especially the crazy patch centers. My favorites. The backing fabric will be wonderful and I love the sparkles in the teal! What fun you will have. 😉
I’m finding it impossible to choose favourites, but I agree, the crazy centres are gorgeous. The sparkly teal shouted at me from the shelf, I had to have it! You’ll only see a half a inch strip between the blocks, so it won’t be too bling-y, but it was such fun finding a fabric that ‘scinteallated’ too!
This is going to be great!
I love how there’s so much variety already. Once I have a few more, I’ll show them all together so people can see how amazing they look as a collection of stars.
Oh wow! Aren’t people clever? And in this instance Gunn and Sue.
They both have a real flair for colour and their piecing is beautiful – I’m very lucky to have them on board with this quilt!
Lots for you to play with now !! 🙂
Yes, ten blocks already!
All beautiful and quite unusual blocks from Sue and Gun with a lovely selection of fabrics..
I put my three in the post on Saturday.
I think the cream starry fabric you’ve bought is the one I also found. for my backgrounds.Does it look almost the same on both sides?
They are lovely, and their very difference will make this quilt very special. My cream starry print fabric is quite solid; the back is cream but the stars are barely visible as slightly lighter blobs, so it may not be the same stuff.
More beautiful blocks, this is going to be a lovely quilt. Everyone has such pretty fabrics. I have finished the other block it will be in the mail tomorrow I hope.
That’s great, Robin, it’s so kind of you to do another! The collection of 10 blocks so far is already looking great, so I think you’re right, it will be a very special quilt.
This quilt is going to be a show stopper! The blocks are superb!
If you’ll pardon yet another pun, I think it’ll be stellar! There’s something about a star block that seems to inspire people.
They are all so wonderful, such skill.
You could make the ones with the crazy centres, you know…
These are really awesome, and I can’t say why exactly, but the fifth one is my particular favorite!
It’s Gun’s fabulous appliqué block, she’s used embroidery stitches to increase texture and detail. I love it too!
Y’all are beyond wonderful, again! I could get lost in the colors and patterns, again! So grateful you share your art with us all, again! It’s an amazing way to start the day.
I’m so glad you like them. I think we all enjoy seeing what’s made for the Ovarian Cancer fundraisers, and I’m glad we’ve put a 🙂 into your morning!
These blocks are beautiful, mine should be n the post by the end of the week hopefully 🙂
Thanks, Margaret, that’s great. We’ll be away from Friday for a couple of weeks, so they should arrive just as we get back!
these are all rather “wow”!
They are all a bit special, aren’t they?
It’s going to twinkle for sure!
I agree! It’s looking good already 🙂
So many great stars (my included 🙂 ). I´m glad it didn´t take months for you to receive them 🙂 Love the idea with crazy insides!
Your stars ARE great, and arrived just in time before we go away. The crazy centres do give an interesting twinkling effect, don’t they?
Heavenly blocks all, including yours and Robyn’s posted previously……I’m playing catch-up with blog reading …they’re going to set the quilt a-gleam!
They really do sparkle, don’t they. I’m looking forward to arranging things when more arrive so I can see what’s needed and where before I make any more.
🥰
I’ve gone back and looked at all the stars, and it will be an amazing quilt! I hope it brings many dollars in to help in your local area.
I hope so too – I’m expecting some more squishies to be waiting when I get home, so I can see what still needs to be done.
