SAL 55: a very little progress

I had big plans for lots of progress.

And then I got a summer cold, I’m feeling yuck and my eyes are streaming. I don’t normally get colds, and have no idea where this one came from, but it’s here with a vengeance. So most of the time at the end of the week which I’d dedicated to catching up with the Dahlia piece went down the tubes. I did get a little done.

BeforeAnd after. A little more of the palest lilac, and a little of the pale green.Oh well, that’s how it goes sometimes. I’m sure everyone else will have something to show you. As always, if there’s nothing up when you go and look, give it a little time, we’re all over the world and in different time zones.

See you next time, on December 31. Hope I’ll have got a bit more done by then!

Hope you’re feeling better soon, I love the colours of this tapestry

Still hacking like a good ‘un, but up and about again, thanks. I love these colours too, but I also plan to (eventually) make the same pattern in a bright, high contrast colourway. I think I’ll make my own large chart when the time comes, though, this one’s really hard to follow!

you’ve done more than me this time around . . . I’ve been hopeless ^^

  3. Cindy says:

Any progress is good progress. This is going to be beautiful. Hope you feel better soon.

Love the colours! Feel better soon,.

Get better Kate, I’m sure next round will go better for you, and you still got some stitches in, and that is progress!

  6. A cold is a perfectly justifiable excuse for extra bed rest and a couple of hot toddies. You may not feel like a hot toddy in the kind of weather you’re having at this time of year (I know I don’t!), but my experience is – the hotter the toddy, the better the body 🙂

I just wish that bed rest with a cold was more, well, restful. All that leisure time, and you’re feeling too crappy to enjoy it properly. I’ve been slugging the paracetamol, lemon and honey like it’s going out of fashion. Perhaps a tiny nip of rum added to the mixture…? Purely medicinal, of course.

Kate, I’m sorry you are under the weather, and hope you will recover quickly! Summer or winter a cold is miserable. 😦

    • katechiconi says:

I think a cold feels worse when it’s in the 90s and 80% humidity… When it’s cool the symptoms are easier to deal with. But I’m on the mend, I’m happy to say.

  8. I hope you’ve kicked that cold to the curb, Kate. Your piece is coming along nicely.

Hope you feel better soon, it looks great

  10. Kate I am sorry you aren’t feeling well. Summer colds are the worst! The Dahlia is so beautiful. Reminds me of another poppy project I want to try someday. Feel better!

  11. Sounds like you’ve relaxed (for once) and the virus has moved in. I hope you’re feeling much better soon. Gorgeous colours on the flower.

  12. Carole says:

There’s definite progress on the dahlia and it’s looking good.
Hope you’re feeling better soon 🙂

  13. Can we swap, and I will have your summer cold In the sunshine, you can have my winter cold in the horrid mushy snowy UK.

  14. jessicacrafts says:

A little progress is still progress. I hope the cold goes away and you feel much better soon.

  15. Catherine says:

So sorry to hear you’ve been so unwell. I hope you make a speedy recovery and can get back to stitching. It is looking great, those blue’s really do pop don’t they.

  16. elaine says:

Hope you are feeling much better ~ stitchin’ away!

  17. magpiesue says:

Sorry you’re feeling crummy. A cold is never fun. Hopefully you’ll be up and running (or stitching) like your normal jack-rabbit self in no time. 🙂

    • katechiconi says:

If it was just a bit of coughing and sneezing it wouldn’t have stopped me, but the streaming eyes made it hard to see what I was doing. Anyway, it’s all drying up and going away and I’ll be back on track soon.

I am hoping that by now you are well on the way to recovery. Horrible things, colds. Sometimes YEP tea can help dry up the sinuses ~ Yarrow, Elderberry and Peppermint ~ but it sounds like your cold would be more than a match for it. I love your dahlia, Kate, as you can imagine I would!

    • katechiconi says:

I favour a chunk of ginger root, lemon, honey, boiling water and a couple of panadols 🙂
I’m feeling a lot better already, and will be picking up my needle again very soon.

  19. Christina says:

These colors are so beautiful to look at! Any progress is a joy to view 🙂

  20. rutigt says:

Take it easy and “Krya på dig”!!!!!! This beautiful flower want go away until you are ready to continue stitching 🙂

  21. Oh dear, I’m sorry you’re not feeling well. Hope you’re a bit better by now. (I’ve missed the last few days of posts again, so maybe I’ll catch up and find you’re miraculously better!)
