TWRD: second block

And now for some more deep water action!

Some bright tropical fish for the deeps of the sea. I really like this block, but I probably wouldn’t make another, as it was very fiddly, especially with post-Covid brain…

I have a Storm at Sea block waiting to be made, but that’s for another day. I’ve been notified that there are other blocks on the way, so I’m very much looking forward to seeing those 😊

I think this quilt is going to be quite spectacular!

    I didn’t see the fish at first but now that I have I can’t understand why I didn’t 🥴
Glad to hear you’re on your way to fully recovery.

  3. They are beautiful – I love the bubbly water and the way some of the fish blend in, such good camouflage!

  4. That was quite the surprise pattern. So very fun. I have that kind of brain all the time so you are doing quite well. I don’t like fiddly either but so many patterns look easy and turn out otherwise.

My first instinct was to make them really colourful, but that wouldn’t be in the spirit of the quilt, so it was fun choosing fabrics that told the colour story but still were ‘tropical’ enough.

Love these fishies! Colorful, without being too colorful!

  7. Fish! I’ve never seen quilted fish. Good to see the evidence that you’re feeling better.

  10. I’m glad to hear you’re on the mend, Kate. I like the fish, though it’s a shame it was fiddly. You’ve got it sorted, anyway.
