Welcome once again to ScrapHappy Day!
It’s the day my friend Gun in Sweden and I host ScrapHappy, a day for showing something made from scraps.
This month’s scrappiness is looking distinctly teal. Mainly because I’ve been gobbling up my teal scraps to make blocks for the latest Ovarian Cancer quilt. There’s another block done, but I’m not showing it because it’s not totally scrappy, even if it is totally teal-y 😊 I’ll probably show it in a few days together with the next batch of blocks.
ScrapHappy is open to anyone using up scraps of anything – no new materials. It can be a quilt block, pincushion, bag or hat, socks or a sculpture. Anything made of genuine scraps is eligible. If your scrap collection is out of control and you’d like to turn them into something beautiful or useful instead of leaving them to collect dust in the cupboard, why not join us on the 15th of each month? Either email me at the address on my Contact Me page, or leave a comment below. You can also contact Gun via her blog to join. We welcome new members. You don’t have to worry about making a long term commitment or even join in every month, just let either of us know a day or so in advance if you’re new and you’ll have something to show, so we can add your link. Regular contributors will receive an email reminder three days before the event.
Here are the links for everyone who joins ScrapHappy from time to time (they may not post every time, but their blogs are still worth looking at).

Beautiful 😍 as always…
I just posted too as we are heading out in a bit 🏍🎶💞
Safe travels!
Charming. I’m off to mosey through these posts. Thank you.
There probably won’t be many yet, as I’m the furthest ahead in time zones…
Love the little pops of pink in your tealscape. Teal and ivory were our wedding colors many, many, (ahem!) many years ago.
It’s a good combination! But too many quilts with exactly the same colour scheme could get a bit meh, so I though a tiny bit of extra colour will make them more individual.
I love the heart-shaped pops of pink too.
Pink this time, but I’m thinking other colours for future quilts. Whatever works with the name/theme.
It’s going to be a very independent looking quilt filled with love ❤️
It will be different from any other quilt, that’s for sure. A collaborative quilt always has a very distinctive look. There’s several other blocks on the way, so I’m waiting to see how they all play together.
Lol true, we can only wait and see the result. Hopefully they do gel together
I’ll make it work, even if it means making a few more blocks to rationalise things.
Sweet!
I like that the little pops of pink will enliven the overall teal effect.
Love the hearts. My SHD post is going to be a bit tardy I think!
Not to worry, I know I go back several times to catch the ones who blog a bit later.
Are the hearts appliqued? I love them on those squares!! I really love each square way too much. They are all lovely.
Yes, all the hearts shown here are appliquéd. It’s just nice and easy. I’ll make a bunch of blocks, line them up and then stitch all the hearts on at once.
So pretty
Thanks, I think so too 😊
The diagonal row of hearts on teal stripes is my favourite! But they are all beautiful of course.
It’s rather fun coming up with ways of using up my many and varied teal and pink scraps. I reckon I could probably make another 3 quilts with what’s there, but perhaps I’ll rein in my enthusiasm for a bit while I wait to see what others have made.
They are all lovely!
I love how the little hearts set the teal off so well.
It’s a pretty combination, without overpowering the teal.
The hearts are bubbling up…it’s so pretty, and the blocks look very well together. It’s just so lovely and kind of you to to create more love in the world.
Hearts are irrepressible 💗
Teal scraps are a personal favorite! Just lovely!
I have more teal than any other colour, of course, but it’s still fun to use lots up in such an enjoyable way.

The pops of pink really set off the blocks beautifully .
It’s a pretty combo, and works rather well, I think.
Love the hearts, it’s going to be so pretty 🙂
I agree! The add-a-colour experiment has worked well.
love the teal and the pink hearts are perfect.
It’s a pretty combination. I want to try and avoid *too* much pink, but the occasional pink-heavy block is fine.
Oh, you are using even more pink than I am! 🙂 Beautiful blocks! I hope you´ll like my two blocks 🙂
There needs to be a bit of contrast; some blocks with lots of pink, some with very little. After tomorrow’s post, I’m stopping for a bit so I can see what everyone has made before I decide what else I need to make.
I ❤ Luv this.
Thank you, I’m so glad you like it!
