Time Flies…

… when you’re having fun.

And it still is. Fun, that is. Thank you all, old friends and new, for making blogging still a rewarding, enjoyable, funny, hopeful and positive place to be creative, make friends, receive encouragement and share joy and sorrow.

Who knows where we’ll be in another 8 years, but I hope that I’m still blogging, that I still have things to talk about, there are new friends to ‘meet’ and fresh ideas to enjoy.

Thank you all. It has been a blast!

Thanks for being here, and the friendship you bring!

  5. You’d better still be blogging 8 years from now, that’s all I will say.

Congratulations on 8 years. So glad I found you.

Well done you – and, unlike me, you’ve managed to post regularly through whatever life has thrown at you.

You made me look at my ‘stats’ and, unbelievably, my first post was in August 2009. I peaked in December 2010 with a ‘never to be outdone’ figure of 10.2k views. I had to look up the post that caused all the fuss and it was called ‘The Alternative Christmas Dinner’ in which I wrote about an olde tyme recipe for a gastronomic ‘delight’ of Yorkshire Christmas Pye(sic) which involved multiple birds plus a hare and, apparently, anything else that could be shot or trapped all encased in pastry.. This seemed to attract the attention of worldwide views but, incredibly, absolutely zero comments. I can only hope nobody tried to replicate the recipe..

Thank you for entertaining, informing, comforting and helping me out along the way and long may you continue to be one of my top BOFs (‘best online friends’. I might have made that up but probably not.)

I am truly honoured to have attained the status of being one of your top BOFs! No kidding – it’s amazing to make friends this way.
I will carefully avoid that post in case I ever feel tempted to try it in a moment of madness!

  9. You exemplify using a blog to connect — truly connect — with people all over the world. Thank you for being an inspiration.

    Congratulations, Kate! 🌻🌺🌹
    Here’s to another 8 years!

  13. Terri says:

Happy Anniversary Kate!!! I’ve enjoyed following your blog, seeing what projects you’ve been working on and learning what’s happening in your part of the world. Here’s to another 8 years!!

    • katechiconi says:

I’m glad you’ve enjoyed it 😊 I’m totally unprofessional about it in terms of planning content, or scheduling stuff (except for ScrapHappy), I regard it as a sort of Journaling for Friends, and of course, somewhere to have an opinion or two!

  14. Susan Nixon says:

    That’s a great start!

Aren’t we all lucky to have had you blogging for our entertainment and education for the last 8 years! It’s been a treat to get to know you this way ’cause I wouldn’t have been able to otherwise. πŸ˜‰ Keep up the good work (and I’ll try to do the same).

    • katechiconi says:

It HAS been fun, hasn’t it? Speaking of which, we should do another FaceTime some time – I love seeing what you have on your design wall 😊
Whilst sometimes I struggle to find something entertaining to say, generally it comes as easily as chatting to friends, which of course is exactly what I’m doing!

  16. I hope you are still here blogging, Kate. Congratulations on another year. They do sneak up on you. You keep inspiring the rest of us.

I can’t imagine why I’d stop, unless WordPress change things so much that my lame brain can’t cope any more… I simply can’t find the motivation to teach myself the block editor after 8 years of working with the classic 😟

  17. Going Batty in Wales says:

Happy Anniversary. I love reading your blogs (and Mouse’s as well of course).

Happy Anniversary. Tine has flown, and you continue to inspire us with your delightful quilts and projects

Congrats! Glad to have found another “Longhauler”. I’ve been here in one blog or another for going onto… hmmm, I started back around 2000… Ach, hard to believe it’s been that long!

  20. cedar51 says:

Congrats from me to you – I also have been here a while, although it won’t look like it at the current blog – I deleted many so I wouldn’t have to start again when w/press decided I’d had enough time in the free world…

    • katechiconi says:

I discovered about a year in that if I only uploaded pictures below 1Mb, my data consumption dropped dramatically. I’m still on my original free plan after 8 years, and still have data left to spare without deleting anything.

  21. craftycreeky says:

Congratulations! I think yours was one of the first blogs I followed! Just wondering though why I never get an anniversary message from WordPress πŸ™‚
