And here’s the next one.
This is the Arkansas Traveller block. I made the diamond centres first, and then used them as a single piece when I paper pieced the rest. I love how it turned out 🙂
Don’t you love how it looks like juicy orange segments? I think there may be one more, and then I’ll stop till it’s finally time for the whole F2F group to send out their blocks. Verité will sleep peacefully till then…
Meanwhile, I have other things on my mind. And chocolate to eat.
Wish me luck for tomorrow’s gadolinium injection and MRI 😦
Whoa, what a gorgeous block!!!
Will most definitely be thinking of you tomorrow.
I really, really love this one! It also makes a great foil for yesterday’s lilac and teal version. I just adore that lush, juicy brightness agains the plain coolness of the grey.
Beautiful and, yes, juicy orange segments come to mind.
I was just working out the time zone difference and thinking about sending you an email to wish you luck for tomorrow but I’ll do it here now. I’m thinking of you all the time now and will continue to do so until the results come in. Lots of hugs and positivity coming your way xxxx
I’m glad you like it!
We’re 8 hours ahead of you just now… Thank you so much for all the positive thoughts xxxx
I’m thinking of you, sending positive vibes, and hoping that my immediate thought (due to misreading whilst still abed) was https://youtu.be/CBsRThLIRoU which conveniently actually coordinates with that gorgeous block. Not that i knew that before having only ever seen it i black and white 🙂
Hope that brings you a smile. Sending you hugs and strength (don’t feel you need to reply, focus on your relaxation) x
Hah! You’ve succeeded in bringing a smile to my gloomy face 🙂
🤣
Good luck tomorrow! I’ll be thinking of you.
And that’s another wonderful block. 🙂
Thank you – and thank you! xxx
Hugs and prayers for you tomorrow and the days that follow. Those colours are so positive- love them.
It’s a smile in quilt block form, isn’t it?
This is just utterly gorgeous and as you know my favouritest colours as you well know. A perfect colour when you are not feeling your usual bright self.
Love and hugs to you always and you know I’m praying 🙏♥️
I thought that as I was putting it together. But you’re not having it, it’s MINE 🙂
Hahahahaha… as long as I can look at it I’m happy 😃
I shall have to think of a way to ensure you see it when we’re having a Duo call!
Oh yes … I’ll remind you 🤩
Love the colours esp the paisley sections. Had to Google gadolinium injection… ooh. All will be well, and then all will be well ♡
We live in hope… I’m a huge paisley fan, and I particularly love that one, in such unexpected colours.
Will indeed be thinking of you. Just dream about quilt blocks while they are messing about with you! And let us know the results (tests and quilt blocks) please
Once I know, I’ll be letting people know. But it’s going to take until the beginning of September to get the MRI results. The quilt’s going to take even longer! 🙂
I have patience!
Love it! Good luck we are all rooting for you! ❤
I know it! And I really appreciate the support.
Savor your chocolate restorative and I wish you peace during tomorrow’s tests.
And yes, that block evokes images of juicy orange segments!
I have managed to achieve chocolate overload without finishing the block 🙂 Tomorrow will bring whatever tomorrow brings, and I will deal with it. So long as I can still make pretty things, I’ll be happy!
Prayers for you, today and tomorrow and forever. I LOVE THE BLOCK!
Thank you, my lovely, always appreciated 🙂
and HUGS from afar!
((Linda)) xxx
It’s just stunning! I love the combination of colors.
Me too, all bright, tasty, citrusy and clean.
Oh yes, totally gorgeous block! Praying for you and for a happy outcome.
Thank you, to both 🙂
Kate, praying and wishing you the very best tomorrow, that the gadolinium does its job to help the docs see very clearly and that the outcome is positive. I am off all this week, so if you want/need a distraction of the FaceTime variety, I can manage the time change. If you don’t want to, not a problem, just wanted to put the offer on the table.
And that block…epic!
I keep making new ones and thinking they’re my favourite, so I have a collection of favourites now! One or two more to go and then I’ll have to stop.
I may yet take you up on that, but this morning is already well filled with displacement, dog walking and faffing about to keep me busy 🙂
All the really good words have been used to describe that block. I guess I could say “ditto” but that doesn’t express how much I appreciate the colours and your beautiful craftsmanship.
Will hold you up in my thoughts and prayers. Also the techs and nurses and doctors so they do their best work.

Thank you, Chris. At times like these, it’s good to have something really precise to work on so you concentrate and your brain stops running around the maze!
this one has a very warm feel to it ^^
Good luck for tomorrow!
Thank you – it’s today now, Down Under, so not too much longer to wait.
That block is like a first place ribbon winner in at a fair/art show/quilt block show if there was such a thing 🙂
Maybe not close up, but it’s full of appreciation of the joys of life. Something to look at to cheer myself up!
It does look full of citrus juiciness!
Fingers crossed for you.
Thank you, I had it this morning and the imaging is available already, although the report is going straight to the surgeon.
I knew I would be behind reading and I see that medical things are moving along…gentle virtual hugs from across the ditch
the bright secements (sp check what you do you mean…you can’t locate a suitable spelling!) okay I hope you get vibe. They remind me of that toy that you get a fair, ?windmill twirly things on a stick … and the blocks look like they are ready to fly and around and around…
it’s alright I’m “tied to this here chair” and it’s not “catching” this “forgotten what spelling is or even what this twirly toy is”
Yes, it reminds me of a child’s twirly windmill too! A sort of propellor thingy, and the bright colours reinforce the idea 🙂
here’s a stamp on your hand for working out what I meant….I think a butterfly stamp might be best 🙂
It’ll look nicer than the bandaid I’ve been sporting over the hole the cannula made!
What a lovely block !! I hope all has gone well in hospital !!
Very pretty
Thank you! I think it’s going to be a lovely quilt when it’s done.
