Sorry about the radio silence, me hearties
I’ve had an eye infection that has stopped me reading or using the computer much, a lovely little staph infection in my eyelid that kept on draining painfully into my eye, made it swell up horribly, and needed topical antibiotics to beat it into submission. I’ve had to strenuously avoid the temptation to lurch around doing bad pirate impressions. Well, fairly strenuously. I did let a few “Ahrr hahrr, maties” slip. Weeeelll, you’ve got to make the best of things like that, haven’t you? Perfect excuse, and all that.
It’s finally on the mend. Maybe now I can finish the Opal quilt and make a block or two for Parterre (yes, I did miss the BM&I post at the end of the month…).
I have something shiny and new planned for the next 10 months or so. Not exclusively, but I have an end date to work towards. But first, I need to spend some quality time with pencil and paper. More about that soon.
Good job I can see what I’m doing once again….
Oh gosh … u poor thing ! I was wondering about the silence but this explains it 😳
Get well soon my lovely so we can FaceTime 🤩
Tomorrow evening, maybe?
Sounds good 😌
Right now, it’s day shift, and time I was asleep. Night night…
Good night xxx
Poor you – I hate anything to be wrong with eyes, the thought of it makes me go all unnecessary. I’m surprised you didn’t take the opportunity to lurch around the neighbourhood in an eye patch on Halloween with the trick or treaters. Or did you?
I was tempted…. but no. There’s something deeply squirmy about things wrong with eyes, isn’t there? I’m just glad it’s mostly better, I was getting very fed up with the blurry, gritty, painful bit.
Glad you are on the mend! Is Mouse a good nurse?
Only insofar as I got a few extra prods of nose to groin because breakfast took a few extra microseconds to produce… He’s quite affectionate anyway – when he’s awake!
Sounds very uncomfortable. Glad you are better.
Not fun. Glad to be done with it!
Thankfully the infection is under control and your on the mend…excited to see what’s in the works 🙂
Give me a while, say a week or so, to get the Opal quilt done…
UFDA! Eye things are the worst…my enemy is pink eye, if its within a mile of the house, I’m sure to pick it up. Glad to hear you have beat the thing into submission and are on the mend. The new project sounds intriguing!
Yes, anything with eyes is yuck, not to mention very inconvenient!
Oh! Gosh! Get well quickly. Not being about to see is a horrid thing!
It’s 99% over, thank goodness!
Oh. Good! YAY!
Oh that must’ve been miserable. I’m glad you are on the mend.
A large pain in the backside (and eye), but it’s over now!
Oh my! Hope you are back feeling better and stitching soon!
Either later today or tomorrow; still having a bit of trouble focusing with that eye. But the good thing is, it doesn’t hurt any more!
Glad to hear you are on the mend 😀
🙂
Shiver me timbers that sounds like a painful eye, so pleased you are on the mend! Jenny xx
Painful no longer, I’m glad to report 😉
Phew xx
I did wonder about the radio silence. Glad you’re on the mend at least. I’ve been having to put drops in one of Luna’s eyes for the last week too. It’s relative easy to do because of her Chihuahua eyes (sort of bulgy rather than recessed). Knowing a treat is coming afterward doesn’t hurt either! 😉
It’s hard to anoint the inside of your upper eyelid, especially when it’s swollen. I’d gladly have been in Luna’s position, especially if there was a treat involved!
Bugger. But at least your sense of humour held up 🙄
Only after I’d got over the fact that I couldn’t do anything enjoyable like sew or read. It was as if someone had huffed on the inside of my glasses… At least I can see again, even if it’s still a bit blurry.
Yeesh, my eyes watered in sympathy as I read this. Glad your infection resolved and you’re on to using your precious sight as you choose.
It’s good not to be straining to see stuff once again!
I hope you feel better in no time Kate, although I love that you did pirate impressions, all I could think about while reading this was Captain feathersword from the Wiggles (Clark is in full Wiggle mode at the moment, that’s all we watch with him 🙈) sending hugs
Aww, bless! I feel I should have gone the full effect with eyepatch and black hat and possibly a beard…. Maybe not!
And we need our eyes so much! It’s hard to think of anything you could do ~ sewing, reading, even watching TV/movies would be difficult. I am glad you are on the mend.
The other eye was OK, but you’re right, I couldn’t get much done. It’s still a bit blurry, but 90% there.
GEEZ! Get well soon!
Thanks, Lonnie, it’s pretty much OK now.
Sounds painful, glad for you that it’s nearly over. x
It was a bit, but it’s over now 🙂
Oh my, how dreary! Computer withdrawal! Glad you are back.
Frustrating is the word, I think! I tried to devise alternative activities, but they all involved being able to see properly…
Sounds horrid. So glad you are on the mend.
All better now, thank goodness!
I’m so sorry about your eye Kate!!! It can be a bit detesting as well when the things we love to do are taken from us because of health issues. I hope you are feeling better soon and I am excited to see your new lovely creation!!!❤️❤️
Just a few things to square away first, and then I’ll be able to do some work and start to talk about it.
Glad to hear you are better!
Me too! I was getting very bored….
Shiver me timbers, glad you are better. Sounds like you have some interesting plans afoot.
I’m pretty glad too, it was painful AND boring.
