Lots and lots of wavy lines…
Not a very exciting post, but the quilting is 60% done. In case you’re wondering, I stitched in the ditch around the centre of the Dog Star block, and kept it free of wavy lines. I didn’t want to spoil his doggy beauty, and the square is small enough not to be a problem if un-quilted. Lots of starts and stops, but totally worth it!
I’m in the groove now, and it’s going smoothly. Plenty of bobbins wound so I won’t run out and have to wind more and re-thread the machine. A new can of 505 spray baste. A still day so it doesn’t go everywhere when I spray the blocks. And best of all, a swing seat to sit in while I write this post 🙂 The only way it could be better is if all the blocks were finished.
Soon, I promise.
As always each post is ‘scintillating’ as is the quilt that’s coming along nicely 😍
We should be sitting on the swing together and having a cuppa ❤️
Now that’s an excellent idea. How about a bickie with your cuppa? I like progress posting, and it’s always good when I pass the halfway mark on a job, it makes the rest seem much less intimidating.
I’ve discovered choc coated digestive biscuits 😃
Can’t eat anything solid for two weeks as I’ve had major dental work 😫… so just have to look with longing at them sitting in my biscuit tin 🥴
Oooh, yes, McVitie’s dark chocolate digestives used to be one of my all-time faves, but there’s an art to dunking them successfully without losing half in the tea. You’ll have to do lots of practising, hahahaha! The dental work sounds horrible, you poor thing.
I can’t talk much … I save my voice for work calls only 😫
In which case, let’s defer the F/T a bit longer.
Ok 😭
It is looking gorgeous!
The nice thing about looking at all the blocks quilted is that they become more, well, integrated. The quilting unifies them without losing any of the individuality of the designs.
Your wavy lines always look good – I’m so pleased you’re feeling much better now.
The coughing is abating; tai chi this morning, a bit more sewing, some household stuff and grocery shopping, and barely a gasp. I have the wavy lines method down pat now, so it goes good and fast.
soooo pretty !!
Getting there 🙂
At 60% it’s like riding the bike downhill. Only you still have to peddle. 😉 Glad you are feeling better.
A hill where there are steep and flat bits, but homeward bound nonetheless.
Beautiful!
🙂
always a lovely feeling to know you’ve done more than is left to do ^^
That’s it, exactly. One of the reasons I always push on in this part of the job.
60%, a swing chair and not feeling awful ~ life’s good! (Thankfully!)
Certainly an improvement on this time last week!
Well, I think the post is exciting! Real progress!
Oh good! Hopefully I can get the quilting done by the end of the weekend.
The quilt looks great, and you are obviously on the mend now, hurrah for both!
Yes, we’re both so much better, it’s such a relief. And the quilt is coming along nicely 🙂
You are doing great! The quilt is looking so fine!
Not too bad, but I haven’t made much progress in the last few days, for reasons I’ll tell about in a post soon.
