Happy Easter!

I hope you all have a wonderful Easter/Spring Festival/Autumn Festival (depending on whether you’re northern or southern hemisphere), a restful break, and as much or as little creativity as suits you best πŸ™‚

This is about as close to Easter eggs as I’ll get this year, it’s getting too hard to find chocolate eggs that are safe for me to eat, but may there be lovely lashings of chocoliciousness for you all.

The Husband of Chiconia is working this entire Easter holiday weekend, so, being on my own, I shall seize the opportunity to try and get a bit closer to finishing TWX.Β Hopefully my next post will be to show the assembled, although still unbound quilt.

Joy and peace to you all.

Happy Easter, enjoy your sewing time πŸ™‚

  2. Happy Easter. I hope the sun is shining up north as it is here… I think the best thing about Easter is the weather -this year anyway. Store-bought eggs and HC buns have been ruined by commercialisation, so you’re not missing anything there. Yet again we need to reinvent the occasion to circumvent the hype. Enjoy what it brings for you β™‘

Yes, the sun’s shining. And I can make my own hot cross buns, so I’m not missing out too much on that front. They’re just my standard fruit buns with a cross on the top, and for those I don’t need the excuse of Easter, they’re a permanent feature in my kitchen πŸ™‚

HAPPY EASTER! I’m finding it difficult over here also…but there are still some ….do you think I could send you a small package and make it through customs?

Happy Easter Kate, enjoy your sewing time, it is quiet down our way too this year, but I do get to see my lovely grandson later today for grandma cuddle time. Might even venture to the sewing room for a little while.

Happy Easter Kate! I hope you have a relaxing time πŸ™‚

I never bother with an egg for me, I’d rather have some dark Lindt πŸ™‚ Plus I found some marzipan eggs covered in dark chocolate at Aldi that are delicious. Happy Easter

I sometimes get massive cravings for Cadbury Cream Eggs… And marzipan, but so much of that now contains gluten so it’s out. I’ll stick with my Chocolat Frey 85%!

Happy Easter, Kate. Enjoy your sewing time.
On a lark I looked up “quilted Easter eggs” and as it happens there are such things! Eye candy to be sure, but won’t hurt us.

Happy Easter. Best sort of eggs you stitched, better then the chocolate ones I am about to nosh.

Your low calorie eggs look good. I have been presented with an organic dark chocolate egg containing two dark choc bars inside – one with crystallized ginger, one with burnt toffee. Philistine that I am, I am secretly lusting after the one he bought younger daughter – a Cadbury’s Wispa :/ Happy Easter sewing to you – I’ve been preparing border, back and batting for braid quilt and will hopefully be spraying around some sticky basting stuff tomorrow.

Phwoarr! Hand them over! There’s actually some dark chocolate covered ginger that I can eat, but as they’re just chunks and I wanted a proper egg, I rejected them. Clearly that was a mistake, in retrospect… I have the final third of TWX to join, then the two big seams and it’s done. I’ll see how I get on, I’m out to lunch later.

Happy Easter! That is a really lovely design! I wouldn’t worry about the lack of chocolate- much bette for the waist line and something I should have done this year! Enjoy your stitching time.

As usual I’m one of the last to the party! I hope you’ve had a lovely Easter making good progress on TWX and generally enjoying your day. We’re having sunshine for a change (hooray!) and more than just dandelions are blooming in my little flower bed. I’m consuming one of my 85% cacao bars in your honor. πŸ˜‰

It’s been a nice one despite the absence of the Husband, and it does mean I’ve got on quite nicely with TWX, not finished yet, but hopefully in the next day or so. One of the things I enjoy about Easter Down Under is that it marks the turn of the seasons. The Wet is over, we’re into the start of the Dry. Cooler nights, marvellous!

  16. I had a couple of squares of Whittaker’s chocolate with a cuppa yesterday. (Kiwis make nice chocolate.) That was my Easter – not even a hot cross bun. Very tame!

    • katechiconi says:

Trouble is, most of the Whittaker’s chocolate now says “may contain traces of gluten…” so I have to steer clear. But I agree, they do make very good chocolate.

  17. Easter was just another day in the year here. I spent it finishing up a flannel baby blanket on it’s way to Toowoomba tomorrow. If it makes it. So many things I send just do not and some they send disappears as well. 😦 The weather was cool and gloomy all day but got out the day before and pulled weeds for several hours. Spending a holiday alone is just not much fun. Oh well.

    • katechiconi says:

Fingers crossed for your Queensland-bound package. My Easter sounds a bit like yours, a bit blah and solitary, so I distracted myself with sewing and books. It seemed to do the trick. I hope the mood of life turns around for you soon πŸ™‚

      • Every day is different and that’s the nice part of life. You can’t sit in the ho hums for long. πŸ™‚ I am so ready to see some sun though. Have a great day.
