This poor sampler is getting a raw deal.
So many other projects are stealing all my attention. But I did manage to do a little stitching. Again, progress isn’t impressive, but it is progress…
Where we were before:
And where we are now:
Next time it’ll hopefully look a bit different; more letters, maybe some more border, something like that.
As always, the other ladies in the SAL have beautiful work to show. Do hop over to their blogs and take a look:

Next SAL update is 27th November. See you then 🙂
Slow progress or not – this is so pretty!
I’m hoping to give it a bit more time before the next SAL, maybe take the side borders down to their finished level…
Raw deal, my goodness, your funny. With everything else you achieved these past few & a trip away, your sampler should be thankful to get any time 😁
I’d have taken it with me on the trip if I thought I had a hope of seeing what I was doing, but the lighting in camp was more of the romantic rather than task style…
I particularly love the border down the right hand side 🙂
I call the motif Crown and Key, but most people think it looks like flower heads…
flower heads.
😉
Will the bottom border be the same as the top or different again? Looking gorgeous.
It’ll be different. There’ll be a floral line, then three large spaced squarish blocks, then a very narrow border right at the bottom. Oh, and I’ve decided to leave out the W too…
Why? Is that the usual thing with samplers?
Nope, just me taking liberties with the alphabet in the service of symmetry and design 😉
Your still making progress on this as well as your other projects , it looks great
Thanks! I think the next few stages will be a bit more interesting…
lovely ^^ I vote for more border ^^
Then border it shall be!
It looks great, I know what you mean about several projects vying for your attention, I’m trying to finish a few projects at the moment so I don’t have quite so much going on!
This project at least has the virtue of not being too complicated! Two colours, nice and simple!
Every stitch counts. This is a beautiful sampler. Thank you for the warm welcome.
Thank you, and you are very welcome 🙂
No need to be hard on yourself Kate. Just enjoy the stitching when you get around to it. Looks great!
I shall work on the borders for next time. Nice, easy repetitive work 🙂
I have a couple of projects that I creep slowly on also.
Linda
Sometimes creeping is the best we can manage, but it’s all forward progress, no matter how slow.
Considering how much you’ve been gone and everything else, I am amazed! It’s looking good!
Hopefully I’ll have progress I’m proud of for next time 🙂
I´m sort of glad I wasn´t the only one taken it slow this time 🙂 It´s the best thing with this SAL. You can stitch more or less, whatever you want!
It’s good that we’re free to give it whatever time we can spare.
i think 2 whole letters is pretty good going!
I wasn’t too impressed with myself, having made much better progress earlier in the piece, but I just have to get over that, don’t I 🙂
