Despite the fact that we’re approaching the end of the series, everyone is still doing a great job of getting their blocks out.
It’s Nanette’s turn this month, and there are some really beautiful soft purples, lilacs and lavenders happening in her blocks. It’s almost enough to make me wish I’d chosen the same colour scheme… At halfway through the month, we already have half the blocks completed and mailed off, so we’re well on track. Everyone is still doing beautiful and original work, and I think the resulting quilt should be spectacular.
Speaking of which, I’d like to encourage everyone to actually make something with their blocks! Pat’s quilt was an example of how lovely the quilts can look, as indeed is Avis’s fabulous symphony in purple. I know that Lynn is working on hers and can’t now be too far off being done. So come on, the rest of you 🙂 If you’ve used your blocks for other purposes (American Hero quilts, for example…) do please let us see the results.
It’s been a long wait for me personally, but next month, it’s meeeeee!! Me, excited? Some mistake, surely… Some of you have already sent off your May blocks, and some have already been received. I’ll be ripping into those envelopes as soon as the first of the month comes round. If you know I’ve had your block, do please send the photo after 1 May, otherwise the gallery is going to look a bit sad. I am truly not too concerned about the surprise, so do please send photos once you’ve mailed your blocks; it’s more important to me that we keep the gallery looking great
The Gallery page shows where we’re up to so far for April, if you’d like to head over there. Scroll all the way to the end for the latest additions, which are quite lovely.
There has been enough interest from members new and old in continuing with F²F, and Sue and I are happy to report that it will continue for another session. And if you’d like to see how the new F²F is shaping up, click on the link to the dedicated blog, where you’ll see members’ colour choices, and where the gallery for the second session will be located when the time comes.
For those of you who are still hard at work on the April blocks, don’t worry. You’ve got another couple of weeks to go 🙂
