ScrapHappy April

That’s more like it!

AprilScrappy1 AprilScrappy2AprilScrappy3A lovely trio this time, and actually well in time, shock horror.

Once again, it’s the day my friend Gun in Sweden and I host  ScrapHappy, a day for showing something made from scraps.

ScrapHappy is open to anyone using up scraps – no new fabrics. It can be a random or formal quilt block, a pillow or pincushion, a bag or hat, a collage or rag rug. Anything made of scraps is eligible. If your scrap collection is out of control and you’d like to turn them into something beautiful instead of leaving them to collect dust in the cupboard, why not join us on the 15th of each month?

Either email me at the address shown on my Contact Me page, or leave a comment below. You can also contact Gun via her blog to join. You don’t have to worry about a long term commit-ment or even join in every month, just let either of us know a day or so in advance if you’re new and you’ll have something to show, so we can add your link.

Here are the links for everyone who joins ScrapHappy from time to time (they may not post every time, but their blogs are still worth looking at):

Usually has a scrappy post:

  1. Lovely. I love scrap quilting. Actually I am working on a mini with scrap fabric, however the scrap fabric is from precuts so is all matching or rather one line. They were left over from a project where I had made half square triangles and they were too small to go in the project. What do you think Kate?

I have now copied your list. Thank you for making it! Keep up the good, scrappy, happy sewing 🙂

You’re doing well with your blocks. Very jolly

  5. […] Chiconi hosts a monthly scrap quilt challenge here.  I’m very slow these days so this is as far as I’ve got with my current scrappy […]

  6. I’ve added a progress report here:

I don’t know how you find time for this with all your other proects – you are a whirling wonder!

My post is up! Love your blocks. What size are they?

  8. Someone just gave me a bunch of precut squares that I will sew into a charity quilt soon. Soonish. It could end up in the vision of what you have done here but not as well done. 🙂

That will be lovely. I’d only recommend trying to ensure a good sprinkling of light and dark, graphic and muted in each block – I tried all co-ordinated and it was a dismal failure. The more contrast the better. I have 4 more of these squares to go and then a bunch of prairie points, and then I’m good to start assembling.

    looking fantastic

  10. I am scrappy but always so out of synch on the timing. 😦

If you ever serendipitously find yourself in synch with a scrappy project, don’t hesitate to jump in. Lots of us only join in occasionally, and the variety is good.
