SAL 14: Kowhaiwhai – finished at last

It’s finally done.

Here’s where we were last time. I found that I increasingly preferred it the other way up, so it’s rotated in the next shot.

And here’s where we are now.

I’m going to get it mounted in a card mat, with a backing, and it’ll get sent off to its intended recipient that way, rather than framed, to prevent breakage and keep posting costs down. She can keep it that way or stick it in a frame, whichever she prefers.

And the caption?  It means ‘Protect and bless this house’ and I very much hope it does.

Next month I’ll be starting a fresh project, with some trepidation; it’s a large piece, lots of colour and I’ll have to pay proper attention! Meanwhile, do hop over and see what the others are up to. Remember they’re on earlier time zones than I am, so give it a few hours before you try…

Beautiful! That must feel so satisfying to finish it! I’m sure the recipient will very much appreciate the gift. Can’t wait to see what your next project is.

Striking & simple design and color. I like it that way up as well. A lovely thoughtful piece 🙂

  7. A fantastic finish! I love the bold solid colours and the words are lovely too. As for 15 other cross stitch projects…….no picking smaller ones to finish just to get the numbers down 😉

There are six of my own designs, and the rest are other people’s. I also have three lovely sampler designs I want to do… the list goes on. But *first*, the ANZAC embroidery for the Husband.

Love the bold colours and the sentiment behind the words. I bet it looks perfect in the black mat too. Who couldn’t love it? You won’t be getting it back.
