Stitch Along 11: Kowhaiwhai halfwhai

Sorry about that… You know me, can’t resist a play on words.

Here’s where we were last time.

Screen Shot 2015-04-19 at 8.31.26 pmAnd here’s where we are now. That’s the bottom half finished. Which is what happens when you’re desperate for a break from quilting and the embroidery is lying there invitingly — or at least, inviting compared with the quilting…

Screen Shot 2015-05-05 at 5.32.24 pmI reckon another 3 or 4 posts will see this one finished. I’ve had a poke around and have located the kit for the next one, the Husband’s ANZAC Lest We Forget panel, which is quite large and has lots of colour variations. Many, many potential pitfalls for the easily distracted… But in this centenary year of the Gallipoli landings, I’d like to at least make a start on it, even if I doubt I’ll finish it by December.

As often happens, I’m the first to post because my Sunday starts earliest. Give the others in later time zones a chance to wake up and publish their posts, and then do hop over and take a look at what they’re up to:

oh wow you’ve done lots, considering the state of your poor hands after all that quilting ^^

I’m pretty sure I could have done more if the hole in my thumb would only heal… That’ll teach me to push a fine needle through 6 layers of fabric with my thumb instead of the thimble, hey? But it seems some of us are too old to learn…. 🙂
