In the 10 or so days since the first post about this block swap party, we have very quickly assembled our group of 12 block swappers from all over the world. We weren’t completely sure it was going to take off, but it did, and with interest! The draw has been performed, each participant has been assigned a month, and now, it’s colour choice time for any of you who haven’t chosen yet…
Hat dipping and name selecting services were kindly supplied by the Magpie Husband of From the Magpie’s Nest.* Here’s the list of names for each month, as follows:
June: Esther, http://ipatchandquilt.wordpress.com
July: Annett, https://knettycraft.wordpress.com
August: Susan, https://desertskyquilts.wordpress.com
September: Sue, http://sewingmagpie.blogspot.com
October: Lynn, https://thetialys.wordpress.com
November: Avis, https://ohsewtempting.wordpress.com
January: Emmely, https://infectiousstitches.wordpress.com
March: Nanette, http://stitchandsow-homeandgarden.blogspot.com
April: Kate, https://talltalesfromchiconia.wordpress.com
May: Pat, https://quiltsandchemo.wordpress.com
Esther starts us all off in June with a lovely selection of colours to play with. If you go to the F²F page on this blog you will find all the colours selected so far, and this will be updated as we receive more information. F²F swappers, if you haven’t let us know your colour selection so far, please do – especially if you’re in the earlier part of the swap – to make life easy for those who are very pressed for time or up against a deadline. We will send out a full list when all choices are in.
If you were super-organised, you could even get all the blocks done in one mammoth session, but where’s the fun in that? As more blocks are made and the photos posted, I think we’ll all draw inspiration from each other’s work, resulting in something more varied, colourful and interesting than it would have been if we simply made and sent out our blocks all at once.
I’m really looking forward to June, and the start of it all!
