Wedding Sampler last time

Wedding Sampler now – whoops, a little wonky!

My efforts this time have been pretty unimpressive.

In mitigation, we have had rather a lot on, and my attention has been consumed by recent events. Still, I am managing to creep closer to completion. Next time, probably, I’ll have it done, and then it’ll be on with the next stitchery project. I have several to choose from: something for the Husband, who chose it and will wait patiently till I get round to it; something pretty from my cross-stitch flowers book; or something for me, a portrait of the Husband in black, white and grey. I’m going with the last one. It’s from a black & white photo I took, which I then converted into a cross stitch pattern. Actually, I’m sorely tempted to do it as a tapestry, in half cross-stitch, and make it large enough for a cushion cover. That way, I can lean on the Husband even more than I already do!

Today, I’m linking up with:

Avis:  http://sewingbesidethesea.wordpress.com

Gun:  http://rutigt.wordpress.com

Claire:  http://claire93.wordpress.com

and Jule:  http://fromtheboudoir.wordpress.com

Do hop over and see what they’re working on.

In other news: I have had my second order for the GFree Bakery, and this time they want savoury items too.  So this afternoon and Monday morning will be spent in the kitchen, whipping up more gingerbread, a carrot cake, a batch of chocolate fudge brownies, chicken and mushroom pies and vegetable frittata.

Obviously the last lot of stuff went down well enough to justify a new order, which is nice…

  1. Beautiful cross stitch, and I’m not surprised your baked goods got an encore. You’ll be inundated pretty soon, I have no doubt 🙂

I’m not sure I want to be inundated, but a steady stream of orders would be nice! Glad you like the stitching – the stitch along is exactly what I need to actually finish it.

  2. Lovely needle and thread work 🙂 Am sure your goodies will be in bigger demand as the weather warms 🙂

I have three of the items cooling on racks in the kitchen, and the aromas of ginger, cinnamon and chocolate are driving me mad! The coffee shop taking them is a new venture, so they’re still feeling their way. But there’s a definite shortage of nice GF goodies around, so I have high hopes.

  3. Well done with the repeat orders. Your cross stitch shows beauty, infinite patience and good eye-sight! Cross stitch for this quilter is like a punishment! My husband does beautiful portraits in long and short stitch eg the first he did, after exhausting a passion for birds and camels: http://vivinfrance.files.wordpress.com/2012/07/bedouin-head.jpg?w=960&h=884

That’s a wonderful image, and immaculately done! I’m finding the tiny stitches harder these days, so it’s either new specs or larger stitches! It’s the counting I find a bit penitential, the stitching is soothing…

hardly surprising you’ve not had time to do some stitching with all those baking orders coming in ^^

  5. Bad luck on the house front. Don’t worry, you will get what you want in the end. Accentuate the positives and keep up the wonderful baking ☺. On the sewing front, any progress is progress and that’s what this SAL is all about. No pressure. It’s looking beautiful!

Thank you for the encouragement! We’ve dusted ourselves off and gone house hunting again. I think there might be a positive result this week, but next time I won’t show anything till we’ve seen the report!

It’s not finished? But it looks finished? What else have you to do?
