Bork! Took took took….

Screen shot 2014-05-22 at 1.22.11 PM…Which is chicken for good day, pleasure to meet you, have a nice fresh egg.

Before you start looking accusingly at me, I did three loads of laundry, hung them out and stacked the dishwasher before I sewed up Blue Boy here.

So, a nice pair of egg cosies. Tick.

NOW I can start quilting.

Nothing wrong with a bit of a diversion – especially after three loads of laundry.

  2. I’m interested in the noises chickens make – ours rarely say cluck, but they do say ‘worp’ quite a lot… and possibly ‘bork’… or perhaps they are Trekkie hens and are saying ‘warp’ and ‘Borg’?

Well, they have certainly encountered the Final Frontier round by the fruit cage, haven’t they? My Girls definitely said Bork. Or possible Bawk. And there used to be the odd Gark. I miss them. They were very conversational, and quite happy to sit on my lap for a minute or two until something edible caught their eye.

That’s a very manly looking egg cozy.
“Bork! Took, took” back (i left the last ‘took’ off as I don’t have an egg to give.

Just wondering what Bjork took initially but now realise that you were speaking in chookanese…sorry about that 😉

  5. I have a whole book of patterns for knitted egg cosies. I understand the irresistible lure. I haven’t made one in ages. Sigh. Yet another project on the to-do list.

I think what I enjoyed most was how quick they were to make. You could make a couple in a morning and then it was done and you could go on to something else. One day, I’ll learn to knit properly, and then I’ll be unstoppable.

Omg. A boiled egg cover is just perfect.

I’m a little bit concerned at how addictive the blasted things are to make. Almost instant gratification, and serious cuteness. They’re getting quirkier as I go along. Eggatha and Eggnes are fairly straight, but Egglantine has a much more edgy look! Yes, I named them. I probably need help….

I probably need to go and bake something really complicated and difficult to distract myself. And I have just the recipe. The trouble is, if I do go and make salted caramel macarons, I will feel compelled to eat them.
